NewsBears re-signed CB Charles Tillman to a one-year contract.
ImpactTillman visited the Bucs and former Bears coach Lovie Smith in free agency, but otherwise received zero interest. Peanut was one of the league's top corners in 2012, but was ineffective as he played through injury last season. A born playmaker, Tillman is open to moving to safety. The Bears have holes at both safety and cornerback, but going on 33, safety could make the most sense for Tillman in 2014.

NewsESPN Chicago believes free agent CB Charles Tillman would have to accept a team-friendly deal to re-sign with the Bears.
ImpactThe Bears have cap constraints and multiple needs to address this offseason, so Tillman would almost certainly have to settle for less than what he can command on the open market. There's been heavy speculation that Tillman could reunite with former coach Lovie Smith in Tampa and he's likely to draw interest from multiple teams. Tillman is Rotoworld's No. 8 free agent corner.

Impact"I don't want to play safety anywhere," Tillman said. The soon-to-be 33-year-old said as much in November after he was placed on injured reserve with a triceps injury. Though he has the size (6-foot-2, 198) to play the position, Peanut is determined to show he can still be an above-average corner after a down 2013. He's been linked to the Bucs in recent weeks but is "open to whoever."

Chicago Sun Times
ImpactBucs second-round pick Johnthan Banks had a rough rookie season, and teaming Tillman with Darrelle Revis would greatly upgrade Tampa Bay's secondary. "Peanut" was a favorite of Smith's in Chicago. "It makes the deal probably a little sweeter just because it's a former head coach," Tillman said. "You do know the system ... It's a former coach, a guy that you liked, a guy that you'd been with for 10 years. It's cool. But it's free agency. I'm open to whoever."

"The Bears and I are in good spirits," Tillman said. "There's no bad blood, there's nothing." Coming off an injury-marred season, Tillman would likely have to accept a team-friendly deal to be back with the Bears. "I am just going to see what happens. I have options," Tillman said. Rotoworld ranks Tillman as the No. 6 free agent cornerback available this offseason.
