Drafted:Drafted by Atlanta in 2011 (5/145).
|Assets:||Uses elusiveness, quickness, and a great burst to quickly find holes along the O-line and create yardage. Gives a good effort as a blocker and is a tough competitor despite his slight stature. A valuable option in the passing game and an exceptional return man. Elusive.|
|Flaws:||Doesn't have the elite speed generally expected from smaller offensive players, and his diminutive size is a limiting factor at the NFL level on inside runs; more bounces off tackles than runs through them.|

Jacquizz Rodgers ruled out for Week 17 | 12/27/2013 1:51 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 17.
ImpactJason Snelling and Antone Smith will share backup duties behind Steven Jackson against the Panthers. Rodgers' third NFL season ends with 673 total yards and four all-purpose touchdowns. Although Rodgers is a largely effective change-of-pace back, the Falcons do not internally view him as a future feature runner, severely capping his long-range fantasy ceiling. He's also yet to clear 4.0 YPC in any of his three years as a professional.

Quizz Rodgers being evaluated for concussion | 12/23/2013 11:12 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers exited Monday night's game against the 49ers and is being evaluated for a concussion.
ImpactRodgers caught a fourth-quarter screen pass and took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Aldon Smith. It wasn't a vicious blow, but it was enough to send Rodgers to the locker room. Jason Snelling and Antone Smith are Steven Jackson's backups.
Quizz gets eight touches in win over Skins | 12/15/2013 7:29 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed for 17 yards on four carries and caught four passes for 24 yards in Week 15 against the Redskins.
ImpactWith Antone Smith out with a knee injury, Rodgers handled all of the change-of-pace duties behind Steven Jackson. He's not a fantasy option.
Jacquizz Rodgers handles 10 touches in loss | 12/08/2013 4:28 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed seven times for 14 yards and caught three passes for 33 yards in the Falcons' Week 14 loss to Green Bay.
ImpactChange-of-pace back Rodgers had a few more touches than usual because Antone Smith departed with a knee injury. Quizz is a Steven Jackson handcuff only as it pertains to fantasy football Weeks 15 and 16.
Jacquizz Rodgers totals 38 yards in loss | 11/22/2013 12:31 AM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed three times for seven yards in Atlanta's Week 12 loss to the Saints, adding two catches for 31 yards.
ImpactRodgers was a pure change-of-pace option, getting out-touched 19-5 by Steven Jackson. He also ceded some passing downs to Jason Snelling, further diluting he's already faded FLEX value. If you're still trotting 'Quizz out in a 14-team league, it's long past time to move on.
Jacquizz Rodgers (ankle) probable for Thurs. | 11/20/2013 5:49 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers (ankle) is listed as probable for Thursday night's Week 12 game against the Saints.
ImpactRodgers was upgraded to full participation on Wednesday after being limited Monday and Tuesday. He'll be all systems go but isn't even a flex option.
Jacquizz Rodgers still limited on Tuesday | 11/19/2013 4:03 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers (ankle) remained limited in Tuesday's practice.
ImpactRodgers' injury isn't believed to be more than a minor tweak, so he should be active for Thursday's game against the Saints. His status will be updated on Wednesday. Averaging just 7.5 touches for 41 yards from scrimmage over his past four games, Rodgers is little more than a desperation FLEX option.
Quizz Rodgers (ankle) limited Monday | 11/18/2013 9:12 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers (ankle) was limited in Monday's practice.
ImpactWe didn't notice Rodgers suffer any injuries on Sunday, but he did sit and watch Antone Smith and the backup offense for much of the fourth quarter with the Falcons getting blown out. Rodgers should be fine, but he could lose reps to Smith.
Jacquizz Rodgers gets 7 touches in Week 11 | 11/17/2013 5:24 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed six times for 22 yards and caught an eight-yard pass in the Falcons' Week 11 loss to Tampa Bay.
ImpactRodgers got seven touches, and then took a seat to watch third-string RB Antone Smith break off gains of 50 and 33 in garbage time. (Jason Snelling was inactive.) Rodgers is playing a similar snap count to Steven Jackson, but isn't being featured in terms of touches. He's just a handcuff in fantasy leagues.

NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed three times for 31 yards and caught five passes for 28 yards in Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Seahawks.

Jacquizz Rodgers barely plays behind S-Jax | 10/27/2013 8:23 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed two times for eight yards and caught two passes for 11 yards in Sunday's Week 8 loss at Arizona.
ImpactOver the previous five games, Rodgers averaged 16.4 touches per game. But with Steven Jackson (hamstring) finally back, Quizz was reduced to a change-of-pace man at best. It proved to be a major error as S-Jax had literally nothing to give, but the Falcons aren't going to sit their veteran down. Rodgers remains a hold because of Jackson's performance and injury concerns, but he won't be startable at Carolina in Week 9.
Jacquizz Rodgers totals 62 yards, 2 TDs | 10/20/2013 4:44 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed for 16 yards on eight carries in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Bucs, adding eight catches for 46 yards and two touchdowns.
ImpactRodgers started and was used in a committee with Jason Snelling. He was featured in the passing game with Roddy White (hamstring, ankle) sidelined and finished with a team-high nine targets. Both of Rodgers touchdowns came in the red-zone on check downs from Matt Ryan. With Steven Jackson still out indefinitely, continue to view Rodgers as an RB3/FLEX option for next week's game against the Cardinals.
Quizz totals 58 yards, 2 TDs in MNF loss | 10/08/2013 12:11 AM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed for 43 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries in Monday night's Week 5 loss to the Jets.
ImpactQuizz added 15 more yards on four receptions. Rodgers was bottled up with ease the entire first half as he consistently smashed his 5-foot-6 frame into the Jets' fearsome defensive line. The Atlanta offensive line also can't block anyone. It's arguably the worst in the league. Once the second half rolled around, Rodgers found some space around the edges. New York defensive backs helped him out by missing tackles, too. Rodgers started the game, but he'll likely head back to the bench in Week 7. Steven Jackson is expected back after the bye.
Jacquizz Rodgers outplays Snelling again | 10/01/2013 8:54 AM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers played on 46-of-76 snaps in Sunday night's loss to the Patriots.
ImpactJason Snelling saw 32 snaps. Over the last two weeks, Quizz has out-snapped Snelling 89-68 and out-touched him 33-24. Rodgers has also shown more wiggle and improved finishing power on his runs. He's a better flex option than Snelling heading into Monday night's game against the Jets.
Rodgers picks up 88 totals yards in Week 4 | 09/30/2013 12:41 AM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers had seven carries for 32 yards in Sunday night's Week 4 loss to New England.
ImpactHe added six catches for 56 yards. Rodgers played ahead of Jason Snelling, but continues to lose both red-zone and short-yardage work. With the Falcons playing from behind, he was targeted six times in the passing game. Rodgers will be on the RB3/FLEX radar for next week's game with the Jets. He's currently on pace for 204 touches and 912 total yards.
Jacquizz Rodgers racks up 43 snaps | 09/23/2013 8:27 AM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers played on 43-of-71 snaps (60.5 percent) in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
ImpactJason Snelling played on 34 snaps. They both ran surprisingly well in a tough spot at Miami, combining for 139 rushing yards on 29 carries (4.79 YPC). Rodgers did get the start and out-carried Snelling 18-11 and we would expect a similar split until Steven Jackson (thigh) returns. The Falcons host the Patriots in Week 4.
Jacquizz will have a limited role | 08/14/2013 8:38 AM
NewsOC Dirk Koetter suggested that he doesn't see Jacquizz Rodgers getting many carries this season.
ImpactEven when Michael Turner was running with a refrigerator strapped to his back last year, the Falcons didn't give Rodgers much of a chance. He averaged just 5.8 rushes per game, a number that could even drop now that Steven Jackson is in town. Quizz's chances figure to come as a receiver. "We still have to get Quizz his touches whether if it's on kickoff returns, throwing it to him out of the backfield or the screen game," Koetter said. There's little more than weak handcuff appeal here.
Jacquizz Rodgers believes his role is unclear | 06/23/2013 6:49 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers acknowledged he isn't exactly sure of his role following the Falcons' addition of Steven Jackson.
ImpactRodgers should still play plenty because he's a largely effective back and S-Jax is 30 years old, but his role isn't as defined as it was last season. Complementing less-versatile Michael Turner last year, Rodgers handled nearly 30 percent of the carries and played more snaps than the starter. "When I get in the game, I'm going to try to make my plays and try to get my number called more," said Quizz. "I'll try to make every carry and every catch count."
Mike Smith: Quizz can handle all three downs | 02/24/2013 12:53 PM
NewsCoach Mike Smith says Jacquizz Rodgers "can handle all three downs" at running back.
Impact"We thought he was only going to be a change of pace back," Smith said. "We found out very quickly that even though he is short, he is not little. He can handle all three downs and he does a very good job for us returning kicks." Rodgers did a fine job with his opportunities in 2012, but we feel he's best suited for passing down work. Atlanta is expected to eye a big back in free agency or the draft to replace Michael Turner.
Falcons likely to add a RB in draft | 02/20/2013 11:23 AM
NewsThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution says the "good money" is on the Falcons drafting a running back.
Jacquizz Rodgers not seen as every-down back | 01/21/2013 11:05 AM
NewsFox Sports South doesn't envision Jacquizz Rodgers as an every-down go-to running back.
Fox Sports South
ImpactWe don't either. Rodgers struggled mightily to run between the tackles all season long, and it showed yet again in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. Michael Turner is likely to be a salary cap casualty this offseason unless he takes a sizable pay cut, so the Falcons are certain to be on the lookout for a bigger back to complement Rodgers as a scatback.
Jacquizz Rodgers struggles in NFCCG | 01/20/2013 7:23 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed 11 times for 35 yards in the Falcons' NFC title game loss to the Niners.
ImpactHe struggled running between the tackles, as usual, and wasn't involved in the passing game. Although Rodgers can make defenders miss when sprung into space, he lacks explosiveness without blocking-aided momentum and is panning out as a scatback only entering his third NFL season. Rodgers will be back on his minimum base salary in 2013, but we don't expect a significant leap in production, even if the Falcons cut Michael Turner. Rodgers, who turns 23 in February, finished 2012 as the No. 36 overall fantasy running back.
Jacquizz Rodgers not an every-down back | 01/17/2013 11:32 AM
NewsESPN's Adam Schefter suggests Jacquizz Rodgers is "too small" to be an every-down back.
ImpactRodgers is listed at 5'6/196, but size isn't the only concern here. On 151 career carries, he's managed just 3.75 yards per tote. And if the Falcons thought he could effectively carry the load, he would have taken fully over for the washed up Michael Turner already. Expect Atlanta to target a running back relatively early in April's draft.
Quizz totals 72 yards while sparking Falcons | 01/13/2013 5:35 PM
NewsJacquizz Rodgers rushed 10 times for 64 yards and added two receptions for eight yards in Sunday's Divisional round victory over the Seahawks.
ImpactThe Falcons offensive line bullied Seattle's front seven in a dominant first half, and Quizz provided the hightlight with a powerful, career-long 45-yard run that featured a steam-rolling of FS Earl Thomas. Look for Atlanta to continue their equal timeshare between Rodgers and Michael Turner versus the 49ers in the NFC Championship game.
