|Assets:||Gritty, and brings a well-rounded skill-set: shows very reliable hands as a receiver, and battles as a blocker. Works to get himself open for the quarterback and is a very dependable outlet option. Has enough mobility to adjust in space and will make the tough grab.|
|Flaws:||Won't stretch defenses and isn't a big-play type of receiver. Lacks ideal NFL tight end size, and isn't particularly fast or athletic. Still makes some unnecessary mistakes as a blocker and needs to keep improving his technique, especially since he's not a physical powerhouse.|
|Career Potential:||Dependable pass-catching tight end.|

Brandon Myers causes two INTs in loss | 12/29/2013 6:52 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught two passes for nine yards in Sunday's Week 17 win over the Redskins.
ImpactMyers was also targeted on both of the Giants' interceptions. He proved to be a severe downgrade on Martellus Bennett this season, posting 47 catches for 522 yards with four touchdowns while playing in all 16 games. Myers will head back to free agency as a 28-year-old plodder with limited upside as a pass-catching tight end. He'd do well to get another one-year, $2.25 million deal like he got from the Giants.
Brandon Myers held to 53 yards in Week 16 | 12/22/2013 8:00 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught four balls for 53 yards in the Giants' Week 16 win over the Lions.
ImpactAside from underneath, checkdown-type completions, Myers' most notable play was missing a chip block to allow Nick Fairley to sack Eli Manning for a safety, narrowing Detroit's deficit to 13-12 late in the third quarter. Myers signed what is essentially a one-year contract in the offseason, in the hopes Giants renowned TE coach Mike Pope could coach him up into a solid starter. It hasn't happened. The G-Men close out the year against Washington in Week 17.

NewsBrandon Myers (groin) is listed as probable for Week 14.

Brandon Myers expected to practice Friday | 12/05/2013 1:51 PM
NewsBrandon Myers (groin) is expected to practice on Friday after missing Thursday's session.

ImpactMyers was limited to exercise-bike duties on Thursday, but it sounds like his injury is minor. The mid-range TE2 should be good to go against the Chargers.
Brandon Myers not practicing Thursday | 12/05/2013 12:44 PM
NewsBrandon Myers (undisclosed) is not practicing Thursday.
Jordan Raanan on Twitter
ImpactMyers was riding the bike while the rest of the team worked out. He didn't appear to get injured during Sunday night's win at Washington, so it could be a rest day for the veteran. We'll know more after practice.
Myers finds end-zone again in Week 13 | 12/02/2013 1:03 AM
NewsBrandon Myers caught five passes for 61 yards and a touchdown in Sunday night's Week 13 win over the Redskins.
ImpactMyers scored on a wide open pass over the middle of the field at the end of the first half and finished behind only Victor Cruz with six targets. He's now managed touchdowns in back-to-back games and will be on the TE2 radar for Week 14 against the Chargers.
Myers goes for 39 yards, touchdown | 11/24/2013 8:15 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught three balls for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' Week 12 loss to the Cowboys.
ImpactMyers' touchdown came against a Cowboys defense that obviously lacked awareness as LB Bruce Carter and S Jeff Heath stood idly by while Myers -- who they apparently thought was tackled -- never got touched and danced into the end zone for a 27-yard score. His other two receptions were dump-offs, which is typically how Myers catches passes. He isn't remotely on the TE1 radar.
Myers catches three passes in win | 11/17/2013 9:44 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught three passes for 32 yards in Week 11 against Green Bay.
ImpactA week after seeing zero targets, Myers was the intended receiver on four of Eli Manning's 35 throws. Still, he hasn't done much since the early part of the season and remains a fantasy non-factor as a TE2/3.
Brandon Myers isn't targeted in victory | 11/10/2013 6:01 PM
NewsBrandon Myers wasn't targeted in New York's Week 10 win over the Raiders.
ImpactIt's the second time in four games Myers was held without a target. What little PPR-league value Myers had has just about vanished.
Brandon Myers still adjusting to offense | 11/02/2013 6:31 PM
NewsThe Newark Star-Ledger reports TE Brandon Myers is still adjusting to the Giants offense and has "struggled to get on the same page" with Eli Manning.
ImpactMyers is being asked to do more blocking this season, resulting in just 23 catches for 265 yards and one touchdown through eight games. "We've had to keep the protection in a little more," tight end coach Michael Pope said. "The other thing is our receivers have been where a good part of our passing game starts, the reads begin there." Myers has been a complete non-factor since the first two weeks of the season and is no higher than the No. 4 option in the passing game. He won't be more than a low-end TE2 when the Giants come out of their bye.
Brandon Myers clinches game with late catch | 10/27/2013 5:13 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught three passes for 42 yards in Sunday's Week 8 win at Philadelphia.
ImpactMyers saw just four targets on the day even though Eli Manning attempted 39 passes. But with the Giants in desperate need of a third-down conversion to help close the game out late, Eli found his lumbering tight end. Myers' first year in New York hasn't gone as hoped as he's on pace for just 46 catches, 530 yards and two touchdowns. He's a weak TE2 when the Giants come out of their bye.
Brandon Myers catches two passes in MNF win | 10/22/2013 1:19 AM
NewsBrandon Myers caught two passes for 15 yards in Week 7 versus Minnesota.
ImpactMyers was targeted just three times. Both of his receptions were good for third-down conversions. Myers has been a complete non-factor since catching 13 passes combined in Weeks 1 and 2. He has just seven catches since and is a low-end TE2.
Brandon Myers held without a catch vs. Bears | 10/11/2013 12:31 AM
NewsBrandon Myers was held without a catch in New York's Week 6 loss to the Bears.
ImpactMyers' lone target of the night resulted in a game-sealing interception for Eli Manning. The pass was a bit high, but the 6-foot-3 tight end should have made the play. The volume-dependent TE2 now has just five catches over his past four games. You can do better for fantasy purposes.
Brandon Myers (ankle) active for TNF | 10/10/2013 6:56 PM
NewsBrandon Myers (ankle) is active for Week 6 against the Bears.
ImpactAs is DE Damontre Moore (hamstring), who was originally listed as doubtful. Averaging just 3.6 catches, Myers is a low-upside TE2. Also incative for the Giants are RB David Wilson, CB Corey Webster, CB Jayron Hosley, TE Adrien Robinson, C David Baas, S Cooper Taylor and QB Ryan Nassib. Da'Rel Scott and Brandon Jacobs will split the load in Wilson's absence. Neither is a viable FLEX option.
Brandon Myers (ankle) questionable for TNF | 10/09/2013 1:53 PM
NewsBrandon Myers (ankle) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's Week 6 game against the Bears.
ImpactMyers put in a second straight limited practice Wednesday after sitting out on Monday. Myers hasn't put up big numbers in recent weeks, but he'll be a high-end TE2 this week in what has the makings of an Eli Manning passing-fest.
Brandon Myers is practicing Tuesday | 10/08/2013 12:40 PM
NewsBrandon Myers (ankle) returned to practice Tuesday.
Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter
ImpactMyers is now on track to play in Thursday's game against the Bears. Their Cover-2 defense often yields production to opposing tight ends, but it's hard to trust Myers right now. He's totaled a paltry five catches for 68 yards over the last three weeks.
Brandon Myers held out of practice | 10/07/2013 6:10 PM
NewsBrandon Myers (ankle) missed Giants practice Monday.
Ralph Vacchiano on Twitter
ImpactBattling an ankle injury on a short week, Myers is even more of a fantasy non-factor than usual. He's questionable to face the Bears on Thursday night.
Brandon Myers catches two balls in loss | 10/06/2013 6:34 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught two passes for 35 yards in Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Eagles.
ImpactEven on a day when Eli Manning attempted 52 passes, Myers saw just five targets. With a total of five catches for 68 yards over the last three weeks, Myers is firmly a weak TE2 heading into Thursday's game at Chicago.
Brandon Myers has another bad day | 09/29/2013 5:27 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught no passes on one target in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the Chiefs.
ImpactWith their offensive line in shambles, the Giants are asking Myers to block. He has a total of three catches for 33 yards on six targets over the last two weeks. Even against the Eagles' horrific defense, Myers will be a borderline TE1 only in Week 5.
Brandon Myers active for Week 3 | 09/22/2013 12:06 PM
NewsBrandon Myers is active for Week 3 against the Panthers.
ImpactMyers was really banged up after taking a bunch of shots to the ribs in Week 2, but his Week 3 status was never in doubt. He's in the starting lineup.
Brandon Myers expects to be fine | 09/17/2013 12:46 AM

New York Daily News

Per the NY Daily News, Myers had his "ribs and abdominals heavily bandaged" during Monday's recovery day, and admitted he was "a little sore" after the Giants' Week 2 loss to Denver. Myers has racked up 13 receptions for 140 yards and a score through two games.
Giants TE Brandon Myers needs testing on ribs | 09/16/2013 7:52 AM
NewsBrandon Myers sustained a possible rib injury during Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
ImpactMyers went for X-rays after the game and will likely need an MRI on Monday. We should know if there's a fracture my Monday afternoon. Through two games, Myers has piled up 13 catches for 140 yards and one touchdown.
Myers gets banged around in Week 2 loss | 09/15/2013 9:14 PM
NewsBrandon Myers caught six passes for 74 yards in Sunday's Week 2 loss to Denver.
Brandon Myers scores late in Week 1 loss | 09/09/2013 1:39 AM
NewsBrandon Myers caught seven passes for 66 yards and a touchdown on Sunday night against the Cowboys.
ImpactMyers got the majority of his yardage late in the fourth quarter when the Giants abandoned the run. His touchdown came on the final drive of the game and he finished with nine targets. Myers is a borderline TE1 with strong touchdown upside in fantasy leagues.
Brandon Myers 'perfect fit' for Eli Manning? | 08/07/2013 9:04 PM
NewsAccording to the Newark Star-Ledger, Giants TE Brandon Myers "seems to be the perfect fit" for Eli Manning.
ImpactPer reporter Conor Orr, the duo has been "connecting on some long passes," and developing a rapport in the red zone. With cupboard being more fully stocked in New York than it was in Oakland, Myers is unlikely to approach his 2012 numbers (79/806/4), but could prove to be a dandy plug-and-play TE1, particularly in PPR leagues.
Brandon Myers can get vertical for NYG? | 06/18/2013 10:22 AM
NewsTight ends coach Mike Pope said there will be chances for Brandon Myers to get vertical in the passing game.
ESPN New York
ImpactMyers was mostly a safety valve during his breakout campaign in Oakland last year, averaging just 10.2 YPC. "Our passing game does allow the tight end to get more vertically down the field -- flag routes, double seam routes, post routes," Pope said. "And he appears to have the skills to get those balls. He has a little bit of a jet that can accelerate and go get a ball that is a little deeper." We'll believe the plodding Myers can make plays down the field when we see it. For now, he's just a TE2.
Myers battled sprained shoulder last season | 03/23/2013 1:19 PM
NewsNew Giants TE Brandon Myers revealed that he played the entire 2012 season with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder.
ImpactThe bum shoulder is partly to blame for Myers' poor blocking, but he and Giants TEs coach Mike Pope have "talked a lot about" improving it this spring and summer. "It's never fun to go out there and try to block a 300-pound guy with basically one arm," Myers said. "Obviously, my blocking wasn't up to par. That's not an excuse by any means." Myers says he'll be back to full strength by OTAs next month.

TE Brandon Myers to visit the Giants | 03/16/2013 1:33 PM
NewsFree agent TE Brandon Myers will visit the Giants on Saturday.
New York Daily News
ImpactMyers and Fred Davis are the two best free-agent tight ends left on the market, and Myers doesn't have any question marks regarding his health. This will be his first visit of free agency after having a breakout season with the Raiders last season that saw Myers reel in 79 passes for 806 yards and four touchdowns. The Giants aren't ready to hand the reins over to second-year TE Adrien Robinson.
Brandon Myers an option for Redskins? | 03/07/2013 10:15 PM
NewsCSN Washington specifically mentions free agent Brandon Myers as an option for the Redskins.
ImpactThat's only if Fred Davis isn't re-signed, but recent word is that Washington plans to ink him to a new deal. Myers would be a nice fit, though, if it doesn't work out. He played and excelled in a similar offense with Oakland last year. Myers should have plenty of options, even if it Oakland isn't one of them.
Brandon Myers done with the Raiders? | 03/05/2013 2:18 AM
NewsFree agent Brandon Myers says it's his understanding that the Raiders will let him test the open market.
Impact"I'm optimistic that they might give me an offer, but I guess they had a conversation at the Combine and it didn't sound like they were ready to do that," Myers said. "We'll just see where it takes us." Myers, who turns 28 before the season, is coming off career highs in catches (79), yards (806), and touchdowns (4).
Brandon Myers can fit new scheme? | 02/19/2013 10:47 AM
NewsScouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson says free agent TE Brandon Myers is a fit for new OC Greg Olson's scheme.
ImpactMyers busted out with 79 catches for 806 yards in Greg Knapp's West Coast scheme last season. Although much of that production game in garbage-time comebacks led by Carson Palmer, the numbers will open some doors for him once free agency opens on March 12. The Raiders are expected to let Myers test the open market before trying to re-sign him. "Oakland's receivers have a lot of talent, but are just so erratic and inconsistent with their routes and responsibilities ... which makes Myers alluring for this passing game," Williamson says. "Oakland should bring him back if possible."
Myers to be welcomed back at right price? | 01/04/2013 1:18 PM
NewsFree agent TE Brandon Myers and DL Desmond Bryant are expected to be welcomed back to the Raiders "at the right price."
San Francisco Chronicle
ImpactMyers may want to test the market after a breakout season that saw him finish fourth among tight ends in receptions and sixth in yards. NFL teams realize a good portion of that production came in garbage time, however, and Myers offers little playmaking ability after the catch. He won't break the bank on the open market.
