ImpactMoore was booked into the Fulton County Jail, but there are no further details at the moment. The soon-to-be 28-year-old agreed to a five-year, $29.5 million extension last month. It's Moore's first run-in with the law since entering the league, so there's a possibility he could avoid suspension.
Falcons re-sign SS William Moore | 03/09/2013 9:33 AM
NewsFalcons have agreed to terms on a five-year contract with SS William Moore.
Adam Schefter on Twitter
ImpactThe Falcons opted not to franchise tag Moore, and there was some speculation that he'd hit the open market. It was wise that Atlanta didn't let that happen. Moore was the top safety in this year's free agency class, and is a favorite of Rotoworld's Jeff Ratcliffe. Pencil him in as a strong DB option in IDP leagues.
Falcons 'ramp up' talks with Moore, Baker | 03/08/2013 10:13 AM
NewsThe Falcons have "ramped up" negotiations with free agents William Moore and Sam Baker.
William Moore hoping to stay with Falcons | 03/05/2013 3:42 PM
NewsFree agent SS William Moore hopes to re-sign with the Falcons.
ImpactMoore, who is keen on letting the market establish his value, wasn't franchise tagged ahead of Monday's deadline. He says his agent is in ongoing talks with the Falcons. "I hope to get it closed soon. I love the Atlanta Falcons. They gave me an opportunity to be blessed and come into the NFL and be a part of this great organization."
Moore expected to get five years and $25-30M | 03/03/2013 11:47 AM
NewsThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution expects free agent SS William Moore to get five years and $25-30 million on his next contract.
ImpactWe'd say those numbers are a bit conservative, but they're close. Tennessee signed Michael Griffin to a five-year, $35 million contract with $15 million guaranteed last offseason as he was entering his age-27 season, and Moore is arguably a better player as he enters his age-28 campaign. Atlanta does not intend to use the franchise tage before Monday's deadline.
Falcons 'do not intend' to use franchise tag | 03/01/2013 10:36 AM
NewsCBS' Jason La Canfora confirms the Falcons "do not intend" to use the franchise tag.

ImpactThere have been varying reports on the Falcons' intent for the tag, but it's looking safe to assume they won't apply it ahead of Monday's deadline. The Falcons are now nearly $16 million under the cap after releasing Michael Turner, John Abraham and Dunta Robinson, so the space is there if they change their mind. SS William Moore is the most obvious candidate.
Report: Falcons still considering using tag | 02/19/2013 11:28 PM
NewsContrary to earlier reports, Profootballtalk.com reports the Falcons have not ruled out using the franchise tag, and that free agent SS William Moore is the "most obvious candidate."

NewsNFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Falcons are not expected to use the franchise tag.

ImpactIt's a surprise, since the Falcons have a readymade candidate in free agent SS William Moore, whom they consider a priority to re-sign. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch recently reported Moore was "interested in testing" the open market. The Falcons must be confident they can reach a long-term deal before the deadline to apply the tag on March 4. If not, Moore could be heading for a bidding war in free agency.
William Moore wants to test the FA market | 02/11/2013 2:19 PM
NewsLeague sources tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that free agent SS William Moore is "interested in testing" the open market.
St Louis Post-Dispatch
ImpactHe may not get that chance if the Falcons slap Moore with the franchise tag. A movable chess piece playmaker in Mike Nolan's defense, Moore was an integral part of the Falcons' pass-coverage and run-defense schemes. Moore turns 28 in May. He's one of the top free agent safeties available, behind Jairus Byrd.
William Moore a candidate for franchise tag | 01/30/2013 12:37 PM
NewsESPN's Adam Schefter calls impending free agent SS William Moore a "prime candidate" for the Falcons' franchise tag.
ImpactA three-year starter and cornerstone of the Falcons' secondary, Moore is hoping to test his value on the open market. He might not get there. The tentative franchise tag number for safeties in 2013 is a relatively inexpensive $6.798 million. The Falcons could very well slap Moore with the tag and the evaluate the situation in 2014 -- when he'll be entering his age-29 season.
Falcons SS Moore sporting a cast on hand | 01/16/2013 10:08 PM
NewsFalcons SS William Moore was spotted with a black cast around his right hand at Wednesday's practice.
ImpactMoore participated in full, but declined to comment on the hand wrap. It's not a major concern, and it would obviously only affect his ability to catch the ball. Moore did say that his hamstring injury that forced him to miss the final four games of the regular season "felt real good."
Moore and Abraham limited for Falcons on Wed. | 01/09/2013 9:09 PM
NewsFalcons SS William Moore (hamstring) and DE John Abraham (ankle) were limited in practice on Wednesday.
ImpactMoore missed the final four weeks of the regular season, but that coupled with the team's first-round bye is expected to be enough time for him to return against the Seahawks. Abraham is fully expected to play on Sunday despite being carted off the field in Week 17.
William Moore (hamstring) returns to practice | 01/05/2013 8:17 PM
NewsFalcons SS William Moore (hamstring) expects to be ready for the Divisional Round.
