Dez Bryant: I found myself | 05/21/2013 8:15 PM
NewsDez Bryant says he's "found (himself)," and is "comfortable" with his life.
Impact"I wish it could've been a couple years back, but I had to go through a couple of things to figure it out," Bryant said of his past troubles. "I think I got it and I'm just more focused on my job and doing what I love to do and that's playing football." The lightbulb went off for Bryant on the field last season, and is now doing so off of it. A rare talent, we don't doubt that Bryant can top his 92/1,382/12 2012.
Dez Bryant keeping his nose clean | 05/15/2013 10:50 AM
NewsOwner/GM Jerry Jones says Dez Bryant has "certainly matured."
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
ImpactIt's mid-May and we have zero reports of off-field incidents surrounding Bryant. No news is great news for the freakishly talented 24-year-old. "Football means everything to him and he certainly had a lot of growing up to do, probably more so than your average player in the NFL," Jones said. "He's quick to understand that and he's doing that and he's doing it at a real fast pace."

NewsDez Bryant admits his surgically-repaired finger will "never be normal," but insists it won't be an issue.

ImpactBryant resumed catching passes last month. He apparently did permanent damage as he played through the injury last season, but it never inhibited him on the field. Bryant plays with the kind of physicality that can cut short careers, but he's locked in as a WR1 for the next several seasons, barring injury.
Dez Bryant: Finger is great | 04/09/2013 11:20 AM
NewsDez Bryant (finger surgery) has resumed catching passes.
ImpactBryant broke his left index finger on Dec. 9. It clearly bothered him on the field, but he never sat out and willed his way to 17 catches for 354 yards and three touchdowns in the three games following the injury. "Finger is great," Bryant said last week. "I'm catching passes the same, I'm not missing a beat."
Dez Bryant aiming for 2,000-yard season | 03/29/2013 4:56 PM
NewsDez Bryant says he's aiming to become the NFL's first 2,000-yard receiver in 2013.
Impact"That's just being honest," said Bryant, who's still only 24. "I honestly feel like [2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns] can potentially happen." Over the final eight games of 2012, Bryant caught 50 balls for 879 yards and ten TDs -- numbers that extrapolate to 100/1,758/20 if extended across 16 games. One key for Bryant will be staying healthy. He plays with abandon on the field.
Dez Bryant (back) may not be ready for OTAs | 03/26/2013 5:11 PM

Jerry Jones wants a more effective Dez | 03/26/2013 10:34 AM
NewsOwners/GM Jerry Jones is expecting Dez Bryant to be even more effective this season.
ImpactBryant has apparently turned a corner with his off-field maturity, and the Cowboys are expecting that to translate onto the field. He attended a Dallas rally against domestic violence on Saturday and has been tweeting about how he's been "going about my business." Still just 24, Bryant has room to improve on last year's eye-opening 92/1382/12 line. Outside of Calvin Johnson, there isn't a more talented wideout in the league.
Cowboys confident Dez 'in better place' | 02/23/2013 11:12 PM
NewsThe Cowboys are confident Dez Bryant is "in a better place" regarding off-field issues following a breakout year on the field.
Impact"Dez is in a better place relative to anything that the Cowboys are interested in, which is most everything about him," said owner Jerry Jones. "... He's not around the kind of atmosphere or doesn't have the kind of risks that are involved in his life on or off the field that he had 7-8 months ago." Although playing through a late-season finger fracture was believed to be a long-term risk, the Cowboys have expressed no concerns with Dez's January surgery.
Cowboys retain Jimmy Robinson | 02/14/2013 9:34 AM
NewsThe Cowboys have retained fired WRs coach Jimmy Robinson in a lesser role due to his positive impact on Dez Bryant.
Fort Worth Star-Telegram
ImpactRobinson, 60, was replaced as wideouts coach by Derek Dooley, but spent the last two seasons working with Dez as something of a father figure. He's been retained as a senior coaching consultant. "Jimmy had a really positive impact on Dez," coach Jason Garrett explained. "It was a breakout year for Dez. ... I think he matured a ton, and there's no question the environment he was in certainly helped him, and Jimmy was a big part of that."
Dez Bryant's surgery deemed a success | 01/09/2013 9:32 AM
NewsDez Bryant (finger surgery) is expected to miss parts of the Cowboys' offseason program.
ImpactBryant underwent a "successful" procedure to repair his broken left index finger Tuesday morning. He'll likely be cleared for a June minicamp at the latest, giving him plenty of time to get ready for the season. Bryant averaged 109.9 yards per game and scored 10 touchdowns over the final eight games of 2012.

Dez Bryant dealing with back spasms | 01/02/2013 10:56 PM
NewsDez Bryant (back) has been diagnosed with back spasms after recent tests revealed no structural damage.
ImpactAlthough it was awfully uncomfortable just watching Bryant walk off the field on Sunday, the injury is not a long-term concern and should not inhibit him from carrying on with a normal offseason. No news has been made public when the receiver plans on getting his broken finger operated on.
