Greivis Vasquez will have surgery on both ankles on Friday to "remove loose particles from both ankles," a league source told the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

Initial reports from Venezuela stated Vasquez would have a procedure done on both ankles and now it's been confirmed. Vasquez dealt with ankle issues during the regular season, so the procedure is designed to alleviate that issue. It is "similar" to what Eric Gordon had done earlier in the month to remove bone spurs from his left ankle.
Tyreke Evans admitted that he benefitted from playing both shooting guard and small forward for Keith Smart last season.
"Hopefully, if he does stay, we can get this thing on the road and get a playoff run," Evans said. "If not, he was a good coach to me while he was here. We'll see what happens." It's a lukewarm endorsement, but the admission that one of Smart's move actually benefited Evans is noteworthy.
