|Assets:||Arguably the most explosive leaper in basketball history. A gifted scorer who's also an above-average passer (when in distributor mode). A truly rare athlete who's blessed with long arms that help him defend, rebound, and shoot over defenders well. Can still pull off the big dunk.|
|Flaws:||Increasingly streaky and injury-prone with age; drives the lane less and less, and hasn't developed a good mid-range game (instead settling for too many ill-advised 3-point attempts). Has been criticized for being a 'me-first' player; not known for gritty or clutch play.|
|Career Potential:||Fading star swingman.|

Grizzlies agree with Vinsanity for 3yrs/$12m | 07/11/2014 11:46 PM
NewsVince Carter has agreed to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Grizzlies according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
Marc Stein on Twitter
ImpactIt's fair to wonder when Carter's legs will give out, but in his limited role it's very possible that he continues to put up serviceable numbers as a seasoned backup. It looks like Mike Miller is on his way out of Memphis and perhaps to Cleveland to go play with LeBron.
Mavericks still confident they can keep Vince | 07/09/2014 8:22 PM
NewsThe Mavericks are still confident they can re-sign unrestricted free agent Vince Carter.
ImpactEven with the massive three-year, $45 million offer sheet the Mavs just extended to Chandler Parsons, they still think they can bring back Carter. His minutes would obviously take a hit with Parsons playing a ton of minutes at small forward, so VC's fantasy value would go south in his age-37 season.
Mavericks, Vince Carter progressing in talks | 07/07/2014 12:38 AM
NewsTalks between the Mavericks and Vince Carter are "trending well," according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas.
Tim MacMahon on Twitter
ImpactThere is mutual interest and it seems like only a matter of time before Carter re-signs with the Mavs, but he's also drawn interest from the Heat, Raptors, Thunder and Trail Blazers. He had an excellent season in 2013-14 and was one of the best bench players in the NBA, but at age 37 it's unlikely that he'll get a long contract.
Report: Vince Carter drawing interest as FA | 06/30/2014 7:49 PM
NewsVince Carter is set to become an unrestricted free agent come July 1, and there are a number of playoff teams expected to make an offer, according to sources.
ImpactThe Heat, Thunder, Raptors, and Trail Blazers are expected to make their pitches to Carter in addition to the Mavericks. Carter averaged 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists in 24.4 minutes per game last season, and showed that he still has the ability to make an impact on a team.
Report: Raptors eye free agent Vince Carter | 05/05/2014 9:13 AM
NewsThe Raptors are reportedly interested in signing Vince Carter as a free agent this summer.
ImpactCarter is coming off a tremendous season at age 37, shooting 39.4 percent from downtown while mounting a legitimate case for Sixth Man of the Year honors. He's reportedly very happy in Dallas and the Mavs have the resources to keep him in free agency, but a potential return to Canada may be intriguing enough to lure him north.
Vince Carter turns back clock with 28 points | 04/30/2014 9:56 PM
NewsVince Carter hit 10-of-16 shots and a 3-pointer for 28 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block in Wednesday's Game 5 loss to the Spurs.
ImpactCarter was fantastic tonight and the Mavs would have been lost without him. Dirk Nowitzki had 26 points and 15 rebounds, and Monta Ellis chipped in with 21 points and six assists. The Mavericks, now down 2-3, will try to keep the series going with a home win on Friday in Game 6.
Vinsanity: Carter beats buzzer for the win | 04/26/2014 7:20 PM
NewsVince Carter hit a fadeaway 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat the Spurs 109-108 in Game 3 on Saturday, finishing with 11 points, three boards, one assist and one turnover in 23 minutes.
ImpactThe shot was more than just half-amazing. The Mavericks had 1.7 seconds left and it allowed Carter to get the ball in the corner, put on a pump fake, then hit a high-arching triple to beat the buzzer. The Mavs have a 2-1 lead and will look build off this win in Game 4 on Monday. This year's NBA Playoffs have been absolutely insane so far and we're only a week in.
Vince Carter passed Adrian Dantley in scoring | 04/13/2014 12:08 AM
NewsVince Carter hit just 4-of-13 shots for 10 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals on Saturday, but it was enough for him to pass Adrian Dantley for 25th place on the all-time scoring list.
ImpactCarter is having a nice year for the Mavs and should get some votes for Sixth Man of the Year, although he doesn't have much chance of winning it. And with the playoffs locked up for the Mavs, the old man could be ready for some rest.
Carter goes hitless on eight shot attempts | 04/05/2014 2:04 AM
NewsVince Carter missed all eight of his shot attempts in Friday's win and finished with zero points.
ImpactCarter added three assists and a block to this stinker but he has been great for most of the year and owners should give him a pass.
Vince Carter scores 16 points vs. Clippers | 04/04/2014 2:28 AM
NewsVince Carter knocked down four 3-pointers during Thursday's win over the Clippers on his way to 16 points, two boards, one assist and one steal in 25 minutes.
ImpactHe moved up to ninth place for 3-pointers after the All-Star break and he's done it in just 25.4 minutes per game. Carter is 37 years old and he's also averaged 14.1 points per game since the break thanks to a 53.7 effective field goal percentage. He's worth owning in standard leagues.
Vince Carter hopes to be in Mavs future plans | 03/30/2014 9:00 AM
NewsVince Carter will become a free agent at the end of this season, but stated in a recent in interview that he hopes to return to Dallas.
Dallas Morning News
Impact"I think I've earned the right to stick around," said Carter. Carter signed with the Mavericks the season after their championship run, and saw the team go from defending champions, to barely making the playoffs, to not making them at all. While Carter, statistically, is far removed from his best years, he's still capable of putting up solid numbers as a reserve. Through 14 games in March, Carter is averaging a respectable 13.6 points, 2.2 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.4 treys per game, numbers that are serviceable as a low-end option in standard leagues.
Vince Carter scores 23 points in loss | 03/28/2014 2:09 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 23 points vs. the Clippers during a tough 109-103 loss with one board, one assist, one block and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
ImpactThe Mavericks lost buckled at bit down the stretch while the Clippers finished strong. Carter played the last 6:31 of the game and he continues to see solid minutes in crunch time. Over his last five, he's averaged 15.6 points, 4.8 boards, 2.6 dimes, 1.0 steals and 3.2 triples. Those numbers are good enough to keep him owned in standard leagues.
Vince Carter plays through finger dislocation | 03/22/2014 11:22 AM
NewsVince Carter dislocated his right pinkie finger twice during Saturday's game, but X-rays were negative and he continued to play through the injury.
Dallas Morning News
ImpactTrainers taped up his finger so it wouldn't dislocate again and Carter didn't seem concerned after the game. We're leaving him off the injury report in advance of Sunday's game vs. the Nets, and will let you know if his status changes.
Vince Carter to locker room w/ pinkie injury | 03/21/2014 9:14 PM
NewsVince Carter took his second trip to the locker room in Friday's game against the Nuggets due to a dislocated right pinkie and is questionable to return.
Carter cooling off for the Mavs lately | 03/18/2014 1:45 AM
NewsVince Carter hit just 4-of-13 shots (no threes) for nine points, three rebounds, two assists and one block on Monday.
ImpactCarter was running too hot for a few weeks and we're getting the natural regression right now. Over the last two weeks he has hit just 37.1 percent of his shots and when that happens he becomes a borderline asset in 12-team, 9-cat leagues, and in 8-cat leagues he doesn't get the bump from being a low-turnover guy in general. He'll get it turned around at some point, and owners will have to evaluate their own situations to determine if they can risk the chance that it doesn't happen fast enough.
Vince Carter said he has a couple years left | 03/05/2014 3:30 PM
NewsVince Carter said on Wednesday that he has a "couple years left" in his NBA playing career.
Dwain Price on Twitter
ImpactHe's going to clear the 23,000-point plateau this month and is in his 16th season in the league. Carter's minutes have held steady at around 24.3 per game all year and he's not attacking the basket nearly as much as he used to, which should keep some mileage on the tires. He has an impressive 3.6 triples per game over his last five and is worth owning in standard leagues while he's hot.
Vinsanity returns as Vince Carter nets 21 pts | 03/02/2014 9:41 PM
NewsVince Carter's offensive barrage continued on Sunday, as he came off the bench for 21 points, three 3-pointers, four rebounds and five assists in under 30 minutes of action.
ImpactThe baller formerly known as Vinsanity made 9-of-16 field goals while topping 15 points for the fifth consecutive game. He's on fire from downtown (he's now eighth on the NBA's all-time list for 3-pointers made) and is also chipping in solid rebounds and assists, with the occasional steal and block. He needs to be in all lineups unless he cools off.
Vince Carter continues to cook for the Mavs | 02/28/2014 11:49 PM
NewsVince Carter continued to cook for the Mavs in their loss to the Bulls on Friday, scoring 15 points on 5-of-14 shooting (including four treys) with seven boards, three steals and one block.
ImpactCarter is on fire right now and he should be in all lineups while that is the case.
Carter scores season-high 23 with seven 3PTs | 02/24/2014 11:26 PM
NewsVince Carter scored a season-high 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting (including seven threes) with three rebounds, three assists and one block on Monday.
ImpactCarter has been well worth owning for a while now and though he could cool off at any time, the lackluster play of Shawn Marion lately could be at the root of Carter's surge. He should be owned in all formats until he slows down.
Vince Carter goes off with 18 points and more | 02/22/2014 10:59 PM
NewsVince Carter hit 5-of-13 shots on his way to 18 points, six rebounds, five assists, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers in Saturday's win.
ImpactCarter has scored in double figures in three of his last four games and is playing well off the Mavs bench. If he's available in your league, he's worth a look while he's still feeling it.
Vince Carter scores 15 in loss to Heat | 02/19/2014 1:54 AM
NewsVince Carter hit just 2-of-9 shots and a 3-pointer, but also hit 10-of-11 free throws for 15 points, seven rebounds, a steal and a block in Tuesday's loss.
ImpactCarter is quietly averaging 11.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games and might be a better player to own than teammate Shawn Marion going forward.
Carter posts balanced line in Friday's win | 02/08/2014 1:16 AM
NewsVince Carter scored nine points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in 25 minutes off the bench on Friday.
ImpactWith Monta Ellis getting an MRI for his hamstring it's likely the Mavs will lean on Carter more if Ellis misses time. Don't expect the minutes to jump up a whole bunch, but the utilization will making him a relatively safe low-end play in most formats.
Carter held to just four points on Friday | 02/01/2014 1:16 AM
NewsVince Carter was held to four points in Friday's win, hitting 2-of-6 shots (no threes) with three rebounds and one assist in 26 minutes.
ImpactCarter scored 22 points with a solid line in Wednesday's game and these are the breaks for a player that gets added and dropped in standard leagues with the best of them. Don't pass on a hot free agent to hold onto his borderline 12-team value on the season.
Vince Carter scores 22 points vs. Rockets | 01/30/2014 1:00 AM
NewsVince Carter's 22 points off the bench weren't enough to help the Mavericks in their 117-115 loss to the Rockets on Wednesday, adding three rebounds, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers.
ImpactHe did all of this in 26 minutes, which is a shade above his 24.2 minutes-per-game average. Carter has been fairly productive in his role on the year, averaging 11.4 points, 3.3 boards, 2.8 assists, 0.7 steals and 1.5 triples. He's a low-upside player to own in some formats.
Carter scores 19 points off the bench | 01/25/2014 1:39 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 19 points off the bench on Friday, hitting 8-of-15 shots (including two threes) with three rebounds, three assists and one steal in 30 minutes.
ImpactThis is a pretty standard line for Carter when things are going well. A classic borderline player in 12-team standard leagues, he's much better suited for deeper formats and otherwise worth a look when you're in a pinch and he's hot.
Carter scores 17 points with Marion out | 01/14/2014 1:50 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 17 points on Monday with Shawn Marion (shoulder) out on Monday, hitting 6-of-10 shots (including three treys) with one rebound and two assists in 23 minutes.
ImpactCarter's role isn't going to see a wholesale change with Marion (day-to-day) out, but it will give him a bit more stability for owners in standard 12-team formats. Over his last five contests he is averaging 14.8 points and 2.4 treys per game with not much else, but he is converting on 51 percent from the field and 83.3 percent from the line.
Vince Carter scores 14 points off bench | 01/08/2014 9:24 PM
NewsVince Carter scored 14 points off the bench against the Spurs on Wednesday with one rebound, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 23 minutes.
ImpactHe got a little extra run at small forward and would have likely played more had this game been close. Carter is coming off a 19-point game on Tuesday and has a chance to score in the teens again on Friday with Shawn Marion (shoulder) unlikely to play against the Pelicans. He's worth a look in standard leagues, especially in the short term.
Vince Carter scores 19 in win | 01/08/2014 2:21 AM
NewsVince Carter hit 7-of-12 shots and three 3-pointers on his way to 19 points, five rebounds and one assist in Tuesday's win over the Lakers.
ImpactWith Shawn Marion suffering a shoulder contusion and likely getting a few days off, Carter, along with Jae Crowder should see a boost in minutes and opportunities over the next week.
Carter gets hot against the Rockets. | 12/24/2013 2:07 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 16 points on Monday, hitting 6-of-8 shots (including two threes) with four rebounds, four assists and one steal in 28 minutes off the bench.
ImpactCarter is an ideal stop-gap solution in standard leagues, as when he gets hot he can be suitable replacement in starting lineups. Beyond that, he'll have trouble maintaining the consistency that owners need.
Vince Carter held scoreless off Mavs' bench | 12/21/2013 9:59 AM
NewsVince Carter was held scoreless in 18 minutes during Friday's one-point loss to the Raptors, just the eighth time in his career that VC has failed to score.
ImpactHe had one other goose-egg this year but that was due to an early ejection -- at 10.4 points per game, Carter leads all Mavericks' reserves other than Brandan Wright (12.0).
Vince Carter scores 15 points vs. Bucks | 12/15/2013 12:31 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 15 points against the Bucks in Saturday's 106-93 win to go with six boards, nine assists, three steals, one block and three 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
ImpactHe shot 5-of-10 from the field in his best game of the season. Carter scored just 8.0 points per game with 0.3 triples over his last three, so he looks to have benefited from Dirk Nowitzki (illness) sitting out. He shouldn't be picked up based on this terrific line alone.
Vince Carter drops 16 points off bench | 11/24/2013 12:48 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 16 points off the bench against the Nuggets on Saturday to go with three rebounds, one block and four 3-pointers in 24 minutes.
ImpactHe's been a boom-or-bust guy for a few years, but his averages still make him worth the trouble in some formats. Carter entered tonight with 10.9 points and 1.5 triples, so he's on the fringe as a guy for owners to consider. Although, he's only taking 26 percent of his shots within the paint, so his 40 percent from the field could be trouble this year.
Carter scores 21 points with three treys | 11/16/2013 1:33 AM
NewsVince Carter scored 21 points on Friday against the Heat, hitting 7-of-12 shots (including three treys) with three boards, one steal and one block.
ImpactNumbers like these shouldn't be surprising when he's on and if you take away his ejection he's playing at a late-round level on the year. If you need production now he can be a relatively stable guy to plug into standard league rosters.
Carter scores 13 in return from suspension | 11/10/2013 12:54 AM
NewsVince Carter returned from a one-game suspension Saturday and had 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, a steal, a block and a 3-pointer in 21 minutes.
ImpactThis was a bounce-back game for Carter, who had scored a total of 19 points in the last three games he played in. He's worth a look in all leagues and looks surprisingly agile off the bench right now, but he's far from a must-start in fantasy as long as he's not in the Mavs' starting lineup.
Vince Carter suspended for Friday's game | 11/08/2013 11:34 AM
NewsVince Carter was given a one-game suspension for throwing an elbow at the head of rookie Steven Adams on Wednesday and will miss Friday's game against Minnesota.
John Schumann on Twitter
ImpactThis comes as no surprise and it looks like Jae Crowder should see solid minutes off the bench again tonight. Crowder has been playing well, scoring 17 and 18 points in each of his last two games, and looks like a nice sleeper for tonight against the Wolves.
Vince Carter could be suspended for ejection | 11/07/2013 11:56 AM
NewsVince Carter could be looking at a suspension for his flagrant foul and ejection in Wednesday's game.
Dallas Morning News
ImpactCarter got tangled up with Steven Adams and retaliated to an elbow from Adams with an elbow of his own to the big mans' neck area. If a suspension comes for Carter, it would most likely be of the one game variety while Jae Crowder and Wayne Ellington would stand to benefit from Carter's absence.
Vince Carter ejected for flagrant-2 foul | 11/06/2013 11:26 PM
NewsVince Carter was ejected in the third quarter of Wednesday's game for a flagrant-2 foul.
ImpactHe battled with Steven Adams for a rebound and Adams caught him with an incidental elbow in the face. Carter retaliated with what looked to be an intentional elbow, consequently leading to the ejection. He failed to score in 14 minutes of action tonight.
Vince Carter turns back the clock | 10/31/2013 12:45 AM
NewsVince Carter hit 9-of-16 shots and two 3-pointers for 21 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal in 25 minutes off the Mavs bench on Wednesday.
ImpactCarter turned back the clock tonight but it's hard to imagine him playing this well for long. His legs have a lot of miles on them, but if he's still doing this a week from now, he should be owned in all leagues.
Vince Carter getting some rest Wednesday | 10/16/2013 7:00 PM
NewsVince Carter will not play on Wednesday.
Dwaine Price on Twitter
ImpactIt's just some rest for the 36-year-old swingman. Carter will enter the season healthy, but he may have a tough time duplicating his 25.8 minutes per game from last season.
Vince Carter not thinking about retirement | 10/04/2013 11:42 AM
NewsVince Carter said on Thursday that he's not thinking about retirement.
Impact"I don't want to do that to myself," Carter said. "I don't want to limit myself. I think doing that you'll start thinking about [retirement] as the season goes on. I'll just let the body pretty much dictate how I'm feeling in the end." He's going to turn 37 this season and has a lot of miles on the odometer, taking 4,630 shots in his career. Carter won't get a lot of minutes, but he can fill up the stat sheet enough to be worth a look late in drafts.
Mavs to limit Vince Carter to mid-20 minutes | 09/30/2013 3:35 PM
NewsRick Carlisle said the Mavericks plan to limit Vince Carter's minutes to the mid-20s this season.
Bryan Gutierrez on Twitter
ImpactThis doesn't come as a surprise in light of Carter's minutes per game over the past three seasons -- 26, 25 and 27. He only missed one game last year and managed to produce mid-round value on the strength of 13.4 points, 2.0 threes, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.9 steals per game. Fantasy owners shouldn't be afraid to fill out their bench with VC in the final rounds.
Carter scores 22 points; Dirk scores 26 | 04/15/2013 11:58 PM

NewsVince Carter was quiet on Friday against the Cavs, scoring seven points on 3-of-6 shooting (including a three) with three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes.
ImpactAs long as Shawn Marion (calf) is out then owners should be willing to put up with off nights like this, as a big night is usually right around the corner. That said, if he does this again then maybe we'll change our tune.
Vince Carter has letdown vs. San Antonio | 03/14/2013 10:48 PM
NewsVince Carter shot 4-of-12 from the field for 10 points with three boards, four assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 26 minutes.
ImpactThe Mavericks were down one point on their final possession and Carter missed an out-of-rhythm triple with just a few seconds left in the game. On the other hand, Carter has been effective from beyond the arc and made 15 triples in his previous five games on 62.5 percent from deep. He's worth owning in standard leagues especially with Shawn Marion expected to miss more time.

NewsVince Carter scored 22 points in Sunday's win over Minnesota, hitting 8-of-15 field goals with four 3-pointers, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.
ImpactCarter also didn't turn the ball over in 25 minutes of action, and his resurgence this season has been terrific to watch after years of slowly declining play in New Jersey and Phoenix. Unfortunately for Dallas, even their three-game winning streak leaves them 3.0 games outside of the playoff picture.
Vince Carter slumping after hot streak | 02/28/2013 2:28 AM
NewsVince Carter, who missed all eight shots and had just two points on Tuesday, wasn't much better on Wednesday when he hit 3-of-8 shots for six points, three assists, zero steals and zero 3-pointers in a loss to the Grizzlies.
ImpactCarter was on fire a couple days ago, and owners simply have to hope this is a mini-slump that will be over in the near future. But there is a legitimate concern that he could run out of gas prior to the end of the season, as his legs have a ton of miles on them.

NewsVince Carter missed all eight of his field goal attempts in Tuesday's 95-90 loss to the Bucks, scoring two points with three boards and two assists in 26 minutes.
ImpactHe's been red hot before this dud with averages over his previous five games of 18.0 points 4.6 boards, 1.4 steals and a whopping 4.0 triples in 25.8 minutes. He was bound to have a bad game, so his owners shouldn't make any hasty decisions based on this game alone.

NewsVince Carter scored 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting (including five treys) with nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 29 minutes off the bench on Friday.

NewsVince Carter handed out a season-high eight assists to go with 14 points, three rebounds, one steal and four 3-pointers against the Magic on Wednesday.
ImpactVince is on fire and he's made 2.9 triples per game in his last 12 games. He's not playing a ton of minutes with just 24.0 per game in his last five, but he certainly has value as a 3-point specialist in standard leagues.

Mavs assure Vince Carter he won't be traded | 02/07/2013 5:13 PM
NewsVince Carter says he's been assured by coach Rick Carlisle that he won't be traded by the Feb. 21 deadline.
ImpactCarter is in the midst of a career renaissance and with the Mavs struggling to compete for a playoff spot surely would have been attractive to a contender looking to bolster its bench. However, the Mavs have no reason to trade him at this point. More realistically, Carter will be dealt either over the summer for cap space or at next year's deadline when he'll have an affordable expiring contract. For now, owners should enjoy his recent surge and hope he continues to see useful minutes as the Mavs' sixth man.

NewsVince Carter (illness) went through shootaround, and Rick Carlisle believes Carter will play.
Earl K. Sneed on Twitter
ImpactCarter will likely be a game-time call, but he was able to get through shootaround and as long as he doesn't have a flare up, he should be able to make his return on Wednesday. If he is forced to sit again, look for Shawn Marion and O.J. Mayo to do a little more.

NewsVince Carter (illness) did not practice Tuesday.
Earl K. Sneed on Twitter
ImpactIt sounds like Carter has a serious bug and possibly the flu. He was unable to play Monday and had to see a doctor Tuesday. Consider him very questionable for Wednesday's game against the Blazers.

Vince Carter suddenly questionable w/ illness | 02/04/2013 1:05 PM
NewsVince Carter did not attend shootaround due to an illness and is uncertain to play on Monday.
Earl K. Sneed on Twitter
ImpactCarter's illness comes out of nowhere. Dirk Nowitzki (groin) is expected back, but an absence of Carter would mean that O.J. Mayo and Shawn Marion would have to step up once again.
Vince Carter scores 22 points in 28 minutes | 02/01/2013 2:32 AM
NewsVince Carter shot 6-of-18 from the field for 22 points with two rebounds, four assists, two steals and four 3-pointers in 28 minutes against the Warriors on Thursday.
ImpactHe's been very good in his last games six games, averaging 17.8 points while also providing at least one triple and steal in that span. Vinsanity set a season-high in 3-point attempts on Thursday and is worth a look in standard leagues for owners needing 3-pointers.
Vinsanity explodes for season-high 29 points | 01/19/2013 3:05 AM
NewsVince Carter scored a season-high 29 points on 10-of-17 shooting (4-of-8 3PTs, 5-of-7 FTs) with three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 32 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Thunder.
ImpactCarter had been ice-cold coming into tonight's game and the return of Dirk Nowitzki had cut into his value. Tonight, the Mavs turned to him early and often and owners will want to give him a look for the chance he can keep things up, even if just at a low-end level. Still, Carter profiles as a player that will run hot and cold and have a hard time providing reliable value in standard formats. He appeared to hurt his left shoulder at one point during the game, but didn't leave the contest.
Vince Carter plays 19 minutes in win | 01/17/2013 12:51 AM
NewsVince Carter played just 19 minutes and hit 1-of-7 shots for four points in Wednesday's win.
ImpactMike James was getting run tonight, while Shawn Marion and O.J. Mayo's strong play is holding Carter back. His hot streak is over, and he's scored eight or less points in three of his last five games on 35 percent shooting. It's probably time to move on.
Vince Carter scores 23 points in 34 minutes | 01/11/2013 2:10 AM
NewsVince Carter played 34 minutes off the bench and shot 5-of-13 from the field and 13-of-16 from the line for 23 points to go with five boards, one assist and one block against the Kings on Thursday.
ImpactHe's still getting opportunities to produce on offense even with Dirk Nowitzki back in the lineup. In the five games in which Dirk played at least 29 minutes, Carter has taken 11.0 field goal attempts per game. His age could catch up to him down the stretch, so his owners should always have their eyes peeled for a hot free agent.
Carter returns to the bench on Monday | 01/08/2013 2:32 AM
NewsVince Carter scored seven points off the bench on Monday, hitting 2-of-5 shots (including a three) with seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 24 minutes.
ImpactIt was a concern that Carter would cede touches to Dirk Nowitzki, and we finally saw that play out tonight. He has been playing well enough to post mid-round value, but the writing on the wall suggests that owners shouldn't pass up a hot free agent to hold Vinsanity.
Vince thrives off bench, but Mavs lose in OT | 01/06/2013 1:58 AM
NewsThe Mavericks fell in OT on Saturday despite one of Vince Carter's best games of the season -- he scored 17 points with three 3-pointers, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in 36 minutes.
ImpactVC made 6-of-11 FGs, a rare burst of efficiency for the 15-year veteran. He's quietly averaging 14.3 points, 1.9 threes, 0.9 steals and 0.7 blocks in the past two weeks, good enough for mid-round value in roto leagues.

NewsVince Carter scored 15 points with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block and one 3-pointer in 36 minutes against the Heat on Wednesday.
ImpactHis 36 minutes tied a season high and he set a season high with nine rebounds. Carter is also coming off a 23-point game on Tuesday and has scored 13.8 points per game in his last eight games, so he's been solid enough to own in some formats. Although, Carter should be trending down with Dirk getting back in the swing of things, so we wouldn't get too attached.

NewsVince Carter had 23 points, four rebounds, two assists, a steal and two 3-pointers on 9-of-14 shooting Tuesday.
ImpactIt wasn't a season high for Carter, but did mark the first time he's scored more than 20 points since Nov. 21. He's started at small forward in back-to-back games, but could return to a bench role once Dirk Nowitzki is up to full speed.
