Evan Fournier 's minutes drop to 14 | 03/04/2014 1:13 AM
NewsEvan Fournier played just 14 minutes off the bench against the Wolves on Monday, scoring five points with one assist and one 3-pointer.
ImpactThe Nuggets continue to play Randy Foye way more minutes than he's used to, so it's going to be tough for Fournier to hold fantasy value while Foye and Ty Lawson are healthy. He can be cut in most formats.
Evan Fournier plays 44 minutes, scores eight | 02/28/2014 1:30 AM
NewsEvan Fournier played 44 minutes against the Nets on Thursday with eight points, three rebounds, five assists and four turnovers.
ImpactHe started at small forward and was responsible for handling the ball for the Nuggets tonight. Of course, that's not exactly his forte because he's a little turnover prone and doesn't have great passing skills. Fournier should still be in line for solid minutes while Wilson Chandler (knee) is down, so he's worth a look in standard leagues.
Evan Fournier officially starting at SF | 02/27/2014 8:58 PM
NewsEvan Fournier is starting at small forward for the Nuggets on Thursday night.
Chris Dempsey on Twitter
ImpactHe will start in place of the injured Wilson Chandler (knee) for tonight and likely for the foreseeable future. Chandler has never really been the type of player to return quickly from injuries, so Fournier is worth a look in standard formats.
Evan Fournier hits 2-of-13 shots in loss | 02/26/2014 12:26 AM
NewsEvan Fournier hit just 2-of-13 shots and zero 3-pointers for nine points, two rebounds, three assists and two steals in Tuesday's loss.
ImpactHe had 27 in his last game, but scored nine and seven points in his previous two games. He's going to get loose for some big lines and is getting over 30 minutes per game over his last five, but as his game log proves, he'll also have plenty of down nights to offset the big ones.
Evan Fournier scores 27 points vs. Kings | 02/23/2014 11:10 PM
NewsEvan Fournier was hot on Sunday night vs. the Kings in a 109-95 loss, shooting 8-of-11 from the field for 27 points, four boards, five assists, one steal, one block and four 3-pointers.
ImpactDespite the score, Fournier only scored seven of his 27 in the fourth quarter tonight. He caught our attention back when Nate Robinson (knee) went down for his ability to hit treys and how Randy Foye hasn't been a minutes monster in his career. Perhaps the Nuggets play Foye a little less and Fournier can hold his value in standard leagues. He's worth a look for owners seeking treys.
Evan Fournier plays 27 minutes | 02/20/2014 11:49 PM
NewsEvan Fournier played 27 minutes against the Bucks on Thursday with seven points, five boards, three assists and one 3-pointer.
ImpactHe was doing a little bit of ball-handling tonight as the Nuggets went with a very big lineup. He was one of two guards to get minutes with small forward Wilson Chandler shifting over to shooting guard, so there should be better chances ahead while Ty Lawson (ribs) remains out for Fournier.
Evan Fournier scores season-high 25 in loss | 02/19/2014 2:24 AM
NewsEvan Fournier hit 8-of-19 shots and three 3-pointers for a season-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals in 33 minutes off the Nuggets bench on Tuesday.
ImpactWe thought he might break out when Nate Robinson went down with knee surgery, but he waited a week to do so. He's averaging 12.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 3-pointers over his last five games, but has been too inconsistent to rely on in fantasy leagues. Just keep an eye on him - especially after getting 33 minutes in each of his last two games.
Evan Fournier scores 13 off Nuggets bench | 02/13/2014 1:14 AM
NewsEvan Fournier played 33 minutes off the bench and had 13 points, five rebounds and a 3-pointer.
ImpactTy Lawson was out with his broken rib, clearing more minutes for Fournier. He looked like a hot pick up 10 days ago, but wasn't getting enough minutes. And once Lawson is back, Fournier's role should be reduced.
Evan Fournier disappoints in loss to Indy | 02/10/2014 9:54 PM
NewsEvan Fournier played just 19 minutes during Monday's 119-80 loss to the Pacers, scoring eight points with two boards and one 3-pointer.
ImpactHe played in garbage time and his minutes seemed like they were going to be below 15 before this game got out of hand. The Nuggets getting embarrassed is a bit of good news for Fournier, but his fantasy value doesn't look to be as solid as it was the last time Ty Lawson went down.
Evan Fournier quiet again for Nuggets | 02/06/2014 3:00 AM
NewsEvan Fournier played just 15 minutes on Wednesday, hitting 2-of-5 shots (both 3-pointers) for six points and four rebounds.
ImpactWe initially thought that Fournier would see a boost in Nate Robinson's absence, but it appears that Brian Shaw would rather just play Randy Foye for 42 minutes per game until he passes out. Fournier could be worth owning at some point in the near future, but as long as Foye is getting crazy minutes (44 tonight), Fournier isn't going to see enough run to make a fantasy impact.
Evan Fournier disappears on Monday | 02/04/2014 2:29 AM
NewsEvan Fournier scored one point with two boards, one assist and two fouls in nine minutes against the Clippers on Monday.
ImpactThe starting backcourt of Ty Lawson and Randy Foye played 85 of the possible 96 minutes tonight, so there was not much to go around for Fournier. The Nuggets won't be able to get away with this too often, so Fournier should see minutes in the double-digits more often that not. That said, his outlook took a major hit tonight.
Evan Fournier will get the start vs. Raptors | 01/31/2014 8:03 PM
NewsEvan Fournier will get the start against the Raptors on Friday.
Chris Dempsey on Twitter
ImpactHe's coming off a 38-minute, 19-point game on Wednesday and has a legitimate shot to get over 40 minutes tonight. Fournier takes a lot of 3-pointers and should get several opportunities in what could be an up-tempo contest. If you have him, start him.
Evan Fournier will start if Lawson can't | 01/31/2014 10:15 AM
NewsEvan Fournier is expected to start Friday's game against the Raptors if Ty Lawson (shoulder) can't go.
ImpactNate Robinson (ACL) is out and Andre Miller hasn't participated in any team activities since his blowup on the bench a month ago. Fournier is a 6'6/200 21-year-old Frenchman with some serious upside. In Wednesday's loss to the Bobcats, he came off the bench for 19 points, six assists, five rebounds, three steals and three 3-pointers. Fournier will log huge minutes if Lawson sits, and is still a good bet for 20-25 as a third guard if Lawson plays.
Evan Fournier scores 19 points w/ nine dimes | 01/30/2014 12:21 AM
NewsEvan Fournier took over most of the point guard duties on Wednesday during a 101-98 loss to the Bobcats, playing 38 minutes with 19 points, five boards, six assists, three steals and three 3-pointers.
ImpactTy Lawson (shoulder) didn't play and Nate Robinson (knee) went down in the first quarter to propel Fournier into a featured role. Lawson's injury is not considered serious, but it's not too bad of an idea to pick up Fournier speculatively until the results are known from Robinson's MRI on Thursday. If Robinson needs to miss time, Fournier could be useful in 14- and 16-team leagues.
Evan Fournier scores 17 points as fill-in SG | 01/19/2014 10:53 PM
NewsEvan Fournier started at SG in place of Randy Foye (stomach flu) on Sunday, finishing with 17 points (6-of-11 FGs), three 3-pointers, four rebounds and one assist in 33 minutes.
ImpactInitially it looked like coach Brian Shaw was changing his starting lineup, but the late-breaking news about Foye's illness takes the shine off Fournier as a potential fantasy pickup. The second-year guard came in averaging 5.8 points, 0.8 threes, 1.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game in a backup role, and he'll need a few more solid games before earning a spot on typical fantasy benches.
Evan Fournier starts at SG, Foye to bench | 01/19/2014 7:25 PM
NewsEvan Fournier will replace Randy Foye in the Nuggets' starting lineup on Sunday.
Chris Dempsey on Twitter
ImpactHe may not be an immediate pickup in standard leagues, but fantasy owners should be keeping a very close eye on Fournier. On a per-36-minute basis he's averaging 14.9 points, 2.1 threes, 4.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 0.6 steals this season.
Fournier logs 37 mins w/ Foye in foul trouble | 01/14/2014 2:09 AM
NewsEvan Fournier logged 37 minutes on Monday with Randy Foye in foul trouble, scoring 16 points on 6-of-15 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
ImpactFournier has been a borderline play in 12-team leagues over the last two weeks in his 22.3 minutes per game, and with Wilson Chandler back and Randy Foye likely to play more than 18 minutes on most nights it's hard to get behind his long-term value. Still, Foye has never really locked down a starting job in his career so owners should keep a close eye on Fournier in the coming weeks.
Evan Fournier thrives w/ solid bench role | 01/11/2014 11:47 PM
NewsEvan Fournier took full advantage of extended playing time on Saturday, scoring 18 points in just 22 minutes off the bench in Denver's 120-94 win vs. the Magic.
ImpactHe made 7-of-8 shots including all three of his attempts from downtown, while adding five rebounds and two assists. Coach Brian Shaw's decision to shorten his rotation has done wonders for Fournier, and at the very least he's worth a look for owners hunting points, 3-pointers and a handful of rebounds.
Evan Fournier scores 19 points off the bench | 01/10/2014 1:39 AM
NewsEvan Fournier provided a spark for the Nuggets off the bench on Thursday, scoring 19 points with four boards, one assist, one steal and four 3-pointers in just 18 minutes.
ImpactHe was the Nuggets' high scorer at half with 11 points and got plenty of good looks at the basket. Fournier can play both wing positions for the Nuggets and should be a big part of the second unit along with Nate Robinson. He's worth a look in deeper leagues.
Evan Fournier not on French EuroBasket team | 08/12/2013 6:09 PM
NewsNuggets guard Evan Fournier failed to make the French EuroBasket team.
ImpactFrench head coach Vincent Collet said Fournier improved the last few games he played for the team, but it wasn't enough for him to make the final cut. After averaging 5.3 points per game as a rookie, Fournier will now focus on trying to win the starting shooting guard job for the Nuggets over Randy Foye. In four games as a stater last year, he averaged 13 points and 1.3 steals per game.
Nuggets to hold competition for SG job | 07/16/2013 6:21 PM
NewsThe Denver Post considers the Nuggets' starting shooting guard job an open competition.
ImpactEvan Fournier will battle newly signed Randy Foye for the gig. If the Nuggets keep an eye on the future and developing their young players, Fournier will win out. Foye will be 30 in September and boasts an unimpressive 13.5/3.6/2.5 triple slash in 286 career starts. He's also a career 40.9 percent shooter. Fournier, meanwhile, is just 20 years old and brings superior size (6-foot-7) and potential.
Evan Fournier admits postseason is tougher | 04/21/2013 10:27 AM
NewsEvan Fournier admitted after Game 1 that he's adjusting to the pace of playoff basketball.
ImpactFournier, a rookie, looked great toward the end of the season and had several impressive moments this year, but he looked overmatched for much of Saturday's win. He was 3-of-9 in his 22 minutes, scoring 11 points to pair with a couple of steals. "Everything is a little harder, a little faster," he said.
Evan Fournier will start for Nugs in playoffs | 04/19/2013 4:00 PM
NewsEvan Fournier will start at shooting guard in Saturday's Game 1 against the Warriors.
Evan Fournier finally getting opportunity | 04/16/2013 2:43 PM
NewsCoach George Karl heaped praise on rookie Evan Fournier recently.
Impact"We've wanted him to play more minutes, but Andre Miller and Corey Brewer have been playing at a high level all year long," Karl said. Interestingly, Fournier has started the last two games even though Brewer, Miller and Wilson Chandler have all been healthy. The Frenchman has responded by averaging 14.0 points, 3.0 assists, 1.7 3-pointers and 1.0 steals in three starts this year. He's a solid fantasy play in Wednesday's regular-season finale and has upside in 2013-14 with Danilo Gallinari (torn ACL) on the mend.
Fournier starting, Chandler coming off bench | 04/14/2013 4:17 PM
NewsEvan Fournier will start against the Blazers on Sunday and Wilson Chandler will come off the bench.
Aaron Lopez on Twitter
ImpactIt's his second start of the season and he played just 18 minutes with six points on two 3-pointers. He's worth watching, but most owners shouldn't bother adding him unless he goes off. Chandler shouldn't lose too much value with this news.
Evan Fournier solid again w/ 18 pts off bench | 04/03/2013 11:39 PM
NewsThe Nuggets won in Utah on Wednesday with a dominant a strong bench effort, led by Evan Fournier's 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting in 22 minutes.
ImpactGeorge Karl said this weekend that he isn't afraid to give Fournier reliable minutes in the rotation, and he's worth a look in deep leagues as long as Ty Lawson is out. He even hit one 3-pointer with two rebounds, two assists and a game-high three steals.
George Karl not afraid to play Evan Fournier | 04/01/2013 9:19 AM
NewsGeorge Karl is "not afraid" to play Evan Fournier on a consistent basis.
ImpactFournier had a season-high 19 points on Friday with Ty Lawson (heel) out of the lineup. "Evan's position is good playmaker as an off-guard. His position is not point guard," Karl said. Despite the backhanded praise, Fournier won't be a fantasy asset any time soon.
Fournier scores season-high 19 points | 03/30/2013 2:40 AM
NewsEvan Fournier scored a season-high 19 points on Friday, hitting 6-of-9 shots (including a three) with two rebounds, two assists and two steals in 21 minutes off the bench.
ImpactFournier only gets this chance with Ty Lawson (foot) out, and he's only worth paying attention to in massive formats. He needs a lot of help to have any fantasy value.
