|Assets:||Very strong defensively in the post. Big and long, helping him excel and produce as a rebounder and shot-blocker. Has worked to cut down on his fouls. Shoots well from the field (and especially well from the charity stripe for a pivot), scoring solidly in the post.|
|Flaws:||Isn't very quick or much of a leaper, which may present matchup problems against some of the NBA's quicker big men. Doesn't have much of an offensive repertoire, despite solid footwork in the post.|

Robert Sacre plays 16 minutes in win vs. PHX | 03/31/2014 12:29 AM
NewsRobert Sacre played 16 minutes off the bench vs. Phoenix, scoring six points and securing three rebounds.
ImpactSuns big men Mason Plumlee, Channing Frye and Markieff Morris couldn't defend Chris Kaman, so he got 32 minutes and reduced Sacre to a non-factor. Pau Gasol (vertigo) could return as soon as Tuesday, and Sacre lacks both the consistency and upside that might make him a good waiver wire option.
Mike D'Antoni praises Robert Sacre's effort | 03/30/2014 10:38 AM
NewsMike D'Antoni heaped praise on Robert Sacre in a recent interview.
Impact"He works harder than anyone on the team," D'Antoni said. "It's not even close... His knowledge of the defense is good. He shores up a lot of stuff that we need. He's our best defensive player." When your best defensive player, and hardest worker goes by the name of Robert Sacre, it's no wonder why the Lakers currently boast a record of 24-48. While D'Antoni may love Sacre's effort, it's anyone's guess as to when he'll get extended minutes, making him too unpredictable for fantasy relevance.
Robert Sacre comes off bench behind J. Hill | 03/24/2014 12:33 AM
NewsRobert Sacre shifted to a bench role on Sunday, posting two points, six rebounds and one block in 23 minutes against the visiting Magic.
ImpactJordan Hill took his spot in the starting lineup and promptly scored a career-high 28 points, so it's safe to say Sacre isn't getting his job back. He's barely made a dent in fantasy leagues this season and is an unlikely source of value even if Pau Gasol (dizziness) misses games.
Robert Sacre starts, moves to the bench | 03/22/2014 3:38 AM
NewsRobert Sacre started Friday's game against the Wizards, scoring 11 points with two boards and two assists in 18 minutes.
ImpactHe did not start the second half of this game as a hot Jordan Hill took over next to Paul Gasol. Sacre's primary asset is as a pick-and-roll big man and the Lakers did have an impressive 32 assists as a team tonight, but his role is just too unpredictable to be counted on his most formats.
Robert Sacre will start for the Lakers Friday | 03/21/2014 2:07 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will move into the starting lineup against the Wizards on Friday.
Mike Trudell on Twitter
ImpactHe will replace Ryan Kelly and will most likely go up against Trevor Booker tonight. Sacre's defense has some major holes, but as long as he's able to keep Booker off the offensive glass, it's not a terrible idea for coach Mike D'Antoni. He is coming off a seven-point, 11-board game on Wednesday, but he's still a risky player to use in most cases.
Robert Sacre back to Lakers' bench Tuesday | 02/11/2014 2:17 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will move back to the Lakers' bench on Tuesday.
Mike Trudell on Twitter
ImpactChris Kaman and Shawne Williams will start in the Lakers' frontcourt, and with Jordan Hill healthy there's no reason to think Sacre will offer fantasy value as a backup.
Robert Sacre scores 10 in very weird game | 02/05/2014 9:53 PM
NewsRobert Sacre played after he received his sixth foul on Wednesday against the Cavs due to injuries, finishing with 10 points, three boards and one block in 27 minutes.
ImpactThis was one of the most exciting games of the season and Sacre was actually allowed to play with six fouls because the Lakers were out of bodies. According to the rules, a team cannot play with less than five players. If a player in the game gets his sixth foul and all subs have been disqualified, that player can remain in the game and be assessed with a personal and technical foul upon every following foul. Anyway, Sacre is worth a look in deeper leagues while Jordan Hill (neck, head) is out.
Robert Sacre goes for 14 & 4 in loss | 02/04/2014 11:06 PM
NewsRobert Sacre started at center and had 14 points, four rebounds, a steal and a block on 5-of-8 shooting on Tuesday.
ImpactPau Gasol is out through the All-Star break and Chris Kaman got his first action in quite some time tonight, so look for Sacre to keep starting. He played fairly well, but was also responsible for Kevin Love's scary fall tonight. If you're desperate at center, Sacre looks like the best option on the Lakers at that position.
Sacre starts w/ Kelly, Meeks, Blake & Nash | 02/04/2014 6:30 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will start at center for the Lakers on Tuesday, joining a starting lineup with Ryan Kelly, Jodie Meeks, Steve Blake and Steve Nash.
Mike Bresnahan on Twitter
ImpactChris Kaman and Jordan Hill should get solid playing time off the bench vs. the Timberwolves, and it wouldn't be surprising to see Kevin Love have a field day against L.A.'s super-small lineup. Kendall Marshall has shifted to a reserve role with Blake and Nash healthy but he's also likely to log approximately 25 minutes, especially with Nash limited to roughly 10-16 minutes in his return. There is probably some value buried in the Lakers' changing lineup, but fantasy owners would do well to hedge their bets.
Sacre logs 15 minutes in nightmare night | 02/01/2014 1:52 AM
NewsRobert Sacre logged 15 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Bobcats, scoring six points on 2-of-5 shooting with five rebounds and no steals or blocks.
ImpactSacre got absolutely destroyed by Al Jefferson and this wouldn't normally get a blurb, but Pau Gasol is getting an MRI for his groin on Saturday and Sacre could find himself with a bigger workload pretty soon. It's also possible that Chris Kaman and Jordan Hill take over for any missed time by Gasol, which means that Sacre is just a speculative pickup in very deep formats.
Sacre goes for 14 and seven in blowout | 01/11/2014 3:08 AM
NewsRobert Sacre scored 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting with seven rebounds and one steal in 18 minutes of Friday's blowout loss.
ImpactIt's hard to take much seriously tonight but the result does give Sacre a bit more deep league credibility than he had the night before. Jordan Hill, on the other hand, had just six rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes.
Robert Sacre puts up a goose egg | 01/09/2014 12:14 AM
NewsRobert Sacre did not score in 14 minutes against the Rockets on Wednesday.
ImpactHe added three boards and two blocks, but his weak defense probably cost him some playing time tonight. Sacre might be the second-best big man on pick-and-roll on the Lakers after Pau Gasol, but he's not worth owning thanks to coach Mike D'Antoni.
Robert Sacre goes for 7 & 10 in start | 01/08/2014 1:53 AM
NewsRobert Sacre got another start for the Lakers Tuesday and had seven points, 10 rebounds, a steal and zero blocks in 28 minutes.
ImpactSacre is worth keeping an eye on, but not much beyond that. He's averaging 6.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and less than a block and steal per game over his last five. Jordan Hill came off the bench and played just 20 minutes, finishing with nine points and five rebounds, meaning Pau Gasol is the only must-own big man for the Lakers.
Robert Sacre draws another start | 01/07/2014 1:23 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will start Tuesday's game against the Mavs.
Mark Medina on Twitter
ImpactThe Lakers got ravaged by the Nuggets last time out, but they'll stick with the same starting five. That means Kendall Marshall, Jodie Meeks, Wes Johnson, Pau Gasol and Sacre -- with Nick Young playing heavy minutes off the bench. Sacre is averaging 8.0 points, 5.3 rebounds and 0.8 blocks while playing 21.3 minutes in his three starts so far this season.
Robert Sacre scores 15 points in 27 minutes | 01/06/2014 1:05 AM
NewsRobert Sacre made all six attempts from the field for 15 points with five boards and two steals in 27 minutes against the Nuggets.
ImpactIt was his second start in a row following his 31-minute game on Friday. Coach Mike D'Antoni has been extremely unpredictable with his big men next to Pau Gasol and Sacre did only play five minutes on Tuesday, so he's only worth a look in deeper leagues for now.
Sacre grabs 10 rebounds in start on Friday | 01/04/2014 2:58 AM
NewsRobert Sacre started at center in Friday's win over the Jazz, scoring four points on 2-of-6 shooting with 10 rebounds and a block in 31 minutes.
ImpactIf Sacre can get this type of playing time every night he'll be worth a pickup, but that's hardly set in stone given Mike D'Antoni's random rotations. Unless you're in a deeper league, just keep an eye on him for now.
Robert Sacre draws start on Friday night | 01/03/2014 2:00 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will start at center on Friday night.
Mike Trudell on Twitter
ImpactCoach Mike D'Antonio wants to get some defense in his lineup, so he'll start Sacre over Shawne Williams. Both players are waiver wire fodder as they'll mostly watch the Lakers guards jack up 3s.
Robert Sacre grabs eight boards | 12/14/2013 1:29 AM
NewsRobert Sacre scored two points with eight boards, two assists and one block in 17 minutes against the Thunder on Friday.
ImpactHe didn't play in the last five minutes of the game, so the blowout had little to do with his career-high rebounding total. Sacre isn't too shabby on offense, but there are enough holes in his game to bet against him of picking up steam in Mike D'Antoni's rotation.
Robert Sacre doesn't get off bench Tuesday | 12/11/2013 2:07 AM
NewsAfter starting for two games, Robert Sacre was sent back to the bench and got a DNP-CD on Tuesday.
ImpactIt was just a few days ago Mike D'Antoni was talking about rolling with Sacre at center long term, but that's obviously no longer in the cards. Drop him if you picked him up.
Robert Sacre heads back to Lakers' bench | 12/10/2013 2:17 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will return to the Lakers' bench vs. Phoenix on Tuesday.
Mark Medina on Twitter
ImpactSacre made two starts in which he averaged 6.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 13 minutes per game, so it wasn't hard to see this coming once Mike D'Antoni said he would "shake up" his lineups. If you speculatively picked up Sacre, it's time to return him to the waiver wire.
Mike D'Antoni may 'shake up' starting lineup | 12/09/2013 9:46 AM
NewsMike D'Antoni said that he "might have to shake up the [starting] lineup" to account for Kobe Bryant's return.
ImpactD'Antoni referred to "different dynamics" as the cause for the change. He didn't name any players, but Robert Sacre logged under 10 minutes at center on Sunday and Wes Johnson only scored two points in 25 minutes. Both of them could be living on borrowed time as starters.
Robert Sacre plays under 10 minutes on Sunday | 12/09/2013 12:31 AM
NewsRobert Sacre flopped in his second start at center on Sunday, finishing with two points, one rebound and zero blocks in 10 minutes.
ImpactMike D'Antoni's rotations have relegated Chris Kaman to DNP-CD status and quickly reduced Jordan Hill (11 points in 20 minutes) to an afterthought, so it's not shocking to see Sacre with such limited playing time. His career average of 5.7 fouls per 36 minutes is a large part of the problem -- he was benched with two quick fouls in the first few minutes on Sunday and never regained his footing. Kobe Bryant's return will send shockwaves throughout L.A.'s rotations and standard-league owners are better off watching Sacre from a distance.
Robert Sacre may continue as Lakers' starter | 12/08/2013 10:58 AM
NewsMike D'Antoni suggested that Robert Sacre may stick as the Lakers' new starting center.
ImpactChris Kaman (back) has fallen out of the rotation, D'Antoni feels that Jordan Hill is better suited to a reserve role, and Shawne Williams has settled in with the second unit. That leaves Sacre with a nice shot to keep his job, and he impressed D'Antoni despite getting into foul trouble during his first-ever start on Friday. "I thought he played well the whole game," said D'Antoni. "He had some big stops on [Demarcus] Cousins. And I thought for the first time [starting] he looked really good." Fantasy owners should be ready to pounce on Sacre, who could become a reliable source of blocks, rebounds and a high-percentage points.
Sacre starts, scores 11 points with two blks | 12/07/2013 4:00 AM
NewsRobert Sacre started at center on Friday against the Kings, scoring 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting with five rebounds and two blocks in 17 minutes.
ImpactSacre has size and mild athleticism to go with similarly pedestrian offensive skills, but when you put it all together it wouldn't be surprising if he eventually lands on the fantasy radar when an opportunity presents itself. Keep an eye on him over the next few games to see if he can expand on his role, and likewise whether Chris Kaman and/or Jordan Hill find themselves hurt or on the outs. For now he's an extremely speculative add for center-needy owners in deep formats.
Robert Sacre starting, Jordan Hill off bench | 12/06/2013 8:38 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will start at center for the Lakers against the Kings on Friday.
Kevin Ding on Twitter
ImpactJordan Hill will come off the bench and his minutes were trending down before tonight, playing just 15.0 minutes per game over his last two. Hill did have some injuries, but coach Mike D'Antoni said he likes Sacre's defense and he'll let Hill play in shorter bursts. Hill probably isn't a must-own player anymore, but he should still have a chance to produce off the bench tonight. Sacre is worth a look in deep leagues.
Robert Sacre posts big line out of the blue | 12/02/2013 12:21 AM
NewsLakers big man Robert Sacre notched multiple career-highs on Sunday with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks in just 24 bench minutes.
ImpactTo say this came out of nowhere is an understatement -- he was averaging 2.0 points in five appearances before Sunday's game, but suddenly looked like a stud while scoring on easy passes from Steve Blake, Nick Young and Xavier Henry. Sacre may well become a reliable part of the Lakers' bench rotation but it's hard to foresee him having value outside of the deepest leagues.
Lakers re-sign Robert Sacre | 07/10/2013 2:31 PM
NewsLakers re-sign Robert Sacre.
ImpactSacre was a restricted free agent and was never going anywhere else. He'll make the league minimum and will attempt to eke out some minutes off the end of the Lakers' bench. He has no fantasy value.

Robert Sacre quiet in another Lakers start | 01/10/2013 2:03 AM
NewsRobert Sacre hit just 2-of-9 shots for four points, two rebounds and a block in 25 minutes in another start for the Lakers on Wednesday.
ImpactHe's actually played pretty well in his two-game stint as the starting center for the Lakers, but Pau Gasol could return on Friday, which would shuttle Sacre back to the bench. He has no fantasy value.
Robert Sacre blocks four shots in start | 01/09/2013 1:07 AM
NewsRobert Sacre started at center for the banged up Lakers and had 10 points, three rebounds and four blocks in 28 minutes of Tuesday's loss.
ImpactDwight Howard's labrum injury shouldn't keep him out for too long (targeting next week) and Pau Gasol could return from his concussion on Friday. And you have to think that when one of them is ready to go, Sacre will return to his role off the bench. Unless you're in a 20-team league, Sacre isn't worth picking up at this point.
Robert Sacre to start Tuesday | 01/08/2013 3:39 PM
NewsRobert Sacre will start Tuesday's game against the Rockets.
Los Angeles Daily News
ImpactSacre is a 7'0/260 second-round rookie out of Gonzaga. He appeared in 13 games before getting sent to the D-League this season, averaging just 4.2 minutes in those contests. Despite the Lakers' injury woes, anything more than 20 minutes for Sacre would be a major surprise. They're more likely to go with a smaller lineup featuring the likes of Darius Morris and/or Antawn Jamison for heavy minutes.
