NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the Reds on Monday.
ImpactChisenhall went yard against Alfredo Simon in the second inning, his second homer of the spring. His Cactus League average is up to .308. The club informed Chisenhall that he officially made the 25-man roster, so expect to see him in the lineup at the hot corner on Opening Day.

NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI against the D'Backs on Tuesday.
ImpactChisenhall hit a two-run home run off of Trevor Cahill in the fourth inning, his first of the spring. Carlos Santana was a threat to Chisenhall's playing time at the hot corner, but has looked "stiff and uncomfortable" according to recent reports, so Chisenhall should see more time than expected there.
Chisenhall smacks three hits in loss to Rays | 10/02/2013 11:50 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 3-for-4 in the Indians' loss to the Rays on Wednesday.
ImpactThere was some confusion as to why Chisenhall was even in the lineup -- and for good reason, as he hit just .225/.270/.398 during the regular season -- but he rewarded manager Terry Francona's faith with a three-hit game. Unfortunately for the Indians he was one of the few batters who was able to do anything at the plate Wednesday, as the Indians were held scoreless in the loss. Chisenhall also committed a costly error in the field that led to a Rays run in the eighth inning.
Lonnie Chisenhall goes 3-for-3 in loss | 09/10/2013 10:56 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 3-for-3 at the plate in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.
ImpactChisenhall doubled in his first at-bat and singled in his next two before being removed for a pinch-runner in the seventh. The third baseman entered the night batting only .182/.229/.485 over his last 13 contests, so it was a much-needed good showing at the dish.
Chisenhall breaks out from epic slump | 08/20/2013 1:34 AM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in a victory Monday versus the Angels.
ImpactIf anyone in baseball needed a big night, that person was Lonnie Chisenhall. The young third baseman entered the game slashing a nauseating .086/.158/.086 over 35 August at-bats (three singles, three walks and no extra-base hits). This was Chisenhall's first homer since July 13, also the date of his last multi-RBI game.

NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 0-for-4 on Thursday and is in a 1-for-19 slump this month.
ImpactMaybe it was time for the Indians to give up on Mark Reynolds anyway, but it would have been an easier decision if Chisenhall weren't struggling again. He's hit .175 with just one RBI and one walk in 40 at-bats since the All-Star break. Perhaps the Indians will be a player for Michael Young at this rate.

Paul Hoynes on Twitter

Indians decline to trade Lonnie Chisenhall | 07/20/2013 6:27 PM
NewsThe Indians declined to part with Lonnie Chisenhall in return for the Cubs' Matt Garza, according to Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
Cleveland Plain Dealer
ImpactWhile the Cubs aren't limiting themselves to focusing on one position, it'd sure be nice if they could get a major league-ready third baseman in return for Garza. Chisenhall would have made a lot of sense. The Indians, though, didn't want to part with him in return for 2 1/2 months of a quality starter.
Chisenhall blasts grand slam to power Indians | 07/13/2013 10:17 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall blasted a grand slam off Jeremy Guthrie on Saturday, powering the Indians to a 5-3 victory over the Royals.
ImpactWith one powerful stroke in the seventh inning, Chisenhall turned what had been a 1-0 pitcher's duel into a 5-0 Tribe advantage. He also doubled in the game, finishing 2-for-4. He's been much better since being recalled from Triple-A in mid-June, hitting .292 (21-for-72) with three homers and 14 RBI in 21 games.
Lonnie Chisenhall knocks in two runs | 07/08/2013 11:32 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall singled in both Indians runs Monday in the loss to the Tigers.

ImpactChisenhall opened the 2013 season as the Indians' starting third baseman but batted just .213/.253/.351 with 22 strikeouts over his first 99 plate appearances. The 24-year-old should work his way back up eventually. Mike Aviles will presumably take over at third base.
Lonnie Chisenhall sitting out again | 05/07/2013 6:52 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall is not in the Indians' lineup Tuesday for the second straight game.
ImpactThe Indians are giving the third baseman a couple days off in a row to work on his swing. "After the game on Sunday," manager Terry Francona explained, "we told him that we wanted him to take two days with [hitting coach Ty Van Burkleo] and kind of hit until his heart was content. Hit, hit, hit, hit without the game hanging over him." Chisenhall is batting just .231 with three home runs and 11 RBI this season, but he is hitting .286 average over his past 11 games. However, he's hitting left-handers at an ugly .095 (2-for-21) clip. Mark Reynolds is getting a second straight start at the hot corner.
Chisenhall launches two-run homer in loss | 04/19/2013 11:17 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall launched a two-run homer on Friday, accounting for all of the Tribe's offense in a loss to the Astros.
ImpactChisenhall finished the night 1-for-4. His fourth inning blast off Lucas Harrell pulled the Indians to within one, but that's as close as they would come. Chisenhall is scuffling a bit at the plate in the early part of the season, hitting just .205/ / with a pair of homers and eight RBI. While he's in no danger of losing his job, fantasy owners in deeper leagues may want to look elsewhere for a corner infield option until he gets going.
Lonnie Chisenhall hitting just .167 | 04/16/2013 10:53 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 0-for-4 at the plate in Tuesday's loss to the Red Sox.
ImpactA former top prospect, Chisenhall drew some sleeper buzz after sporting a red-hot bat during spring training, but he's batting just .167 with one homer and a 1/12 BB/K ratio over his first 37 plate appearances. He's already platooning with Mike Aviles at third base and could wind up being benched some against righties.
Lonnie Chisenhall keeps hitting | 03/14/2013 7:11 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall stayed hot Thursday, doubling and belting a solo homer against the Royals.
ImpactHe scored a pair of runs in the game. Chisenhall has been a monster this spring, batting .419 with three homers and 10 RBI. The 24-year-old hasn't hit much at the big league level to this point, but he has upside and is worthy of a late-round gamble in mixed leagues.
Chisenhall homers, knocks in three in win | 03/04/2013 7:04 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall went 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI and three runs scored in a 13-5 rout of the Cubs on Monday.
ImpactMark Reynolds and Nick Swisher also homered in the victory. Chisenhall had a solo home run in the first, an RBI double in the third and an RBI single in the fourth. The 24-year-old owns a .260/.295/.421 batting line over his first 109 major league games and has shown little in the way of plate discipline, but there's enough pop here for him to be a useful option out of the corner infielder spot in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.
Lonnie Chisenhall homers as Tribe tops Reds | 02/22/2013 8:31 PM
NewsLonnie Chisenhall belted a two-run homer in the spring opener on Friday, helping to power the Indians to an 11-10 victory over the Reds.
ImpactChisenhall finished the afternoon 1-for-2, with the two-run shot off Curtis Partch. The 24-year-old is slated to be the Indians' everyday third baseman, and has displayed solid power and average potential in his minor league career. He's certainly worth a look as a corner infielder in deeper mixed leagues.
